Moving the Money
What is moving the money?
Moving the money means taking money away from systems that harm people, like fossil fuels and corporate profits, and putting it into community-led projects that keep people safe, healthy, and supported. It’s about funding the solutions our communities need to thrive.

We move money to frontline organizations across Oregon
The old economy worked by exploiting workers and destroying the environment. We can’t fund a Just Transition using the tools of the old economy. Our model is different. Since 2021, we’ve driven more than $140 million in state funding to frontline communities and mobilized nearly $400,000 to our alliance members.
Every dollar brings us closer to a regenerative economy that gives more than it takes and heals more than it harms. The new economy starts with us, and it starts with putting power in the hands of the people.
Mobilizing grants to our alliance members
We give our members the support they need to organize, lead campaigns, and create Just Transition solutions in their communities.
Advocating for frontline communities
We push for state budgets and policies that prioritize frontline communities, ensuring public dollars fund projects that save lives and build community power.
We move money to frontline organizations across the nation
In 2024, Fund for Frontline Power moved $5 million to 48 frontline organizations advancing replicable, scalable, and just, community-led climate solutions.
OJTA’s Executive Director Joel Iboa served as one of 13 grassroots climate leaders that helped design a grantmaking process that centers frontline leadership and accountability and directed resources to frontline communities across the nation.
